President extends best wishes and prays for early recovery of Nelson Mandela

Islamabad, June 30, 2013 (PPI-OT): President Asif Ali Zardari has extended his best wishes and has prayed for early recovery of the global icon and former President of South Africa Mr. Nelson Mandela.

In his letter to his South African counterpart Mr. Jacob Zuma, the President extended best wishes on behalf of the Government, the people of Pakistan and on his own behalf. The President said that the entire nation is praying for the speedy recovery of the ailing leader with whom they have special affection. He said that the well being of Mr. Mandela is not only a blessing for the people of South Africa but is also a source of inspiration for all the people of the world.

The President wished the great leader an early and expeditious recovery so as to enable him continue guiding the people of South Africa in their forward stride towards achieving its objectives of peace and prosperity.

Following is the text of President’s letter

Excellency

On behalf of the Government, the people of Pakistan and on my own behalf I would like to extend my best wishes for the speedy recovery of His Excellency Mr. Nelson Mandela.

The people of Pakistan join me in their prayers for the speedy recovery of the great leader with whom the people of Pakistan have special affection. The well being of Mr. Mandela is not only a blessing for the people of South Africa but is also a source of inspiration for all the people of the world.

I am confident that the great ailing leader is getting the best medical assistance. We wish him early and expeditious recovery from his illness to enable him to continue to guide the people of South Africa in their forward stride towards achieving its objectives of peace and prosperity.
