President NKATI strongly protested against harassment of industrialists by Sindh Employees Social Security Institution

Karachi, November 06, 2020 (PPI-OT): Faisal Moiz Khan, President North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI), has strongly protested against the harassment of industrialists by Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) and blackmailing them by sending audit notices, appealed to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to Take notice and issue the directives to stop harassment, so that the industrial production activities can continue in the face of the severe economic crisis caused by COVID-19.

“If SESSI does not adopt a positive attitude, the industrialists of North Karachi industrial area will stop contributing”, he said while addressing an emergency meeting in NKATI. The meeting was attended by SVP Shabir Ismail, VP Naeem Haider, members of the managing committee and other members of the association in large numbers.

At the meeting, a large number of members complained of harassment by SESSI in the name of audit and expressed deep concern, also requested that help be sought from Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in this regard. Informing the situation, the industrialists have requested to stop the harassers.

NKATI President said that the factories which are already registered in SESSI, but officials are constantly harassing the industrialists of North Karachi Industrial Area in the name of Land Utilization Revenue. SESSI, on the other hand, is a levy, not a tax that would seal the industries.

“Due to prolonged lockdown during the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the industries had already been closed for several months and after the end of the lockdown, the industries were gradually resuming production activities and the industrial community is struggling to survive despite the country’s severe economic crisis, but SESSI continues to obstruct the industrial process”, he pointed out.

Faisal Moiz Khan strongly appealed to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to issue directives to SESSI not to harass the industrialists so that the production process could continue uninterrupted and uninterrupted delivery of foreign orders could be ensured. Which will have positive effects on the national economy.
