Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the significance of Djibouti in Pakistan’s Africa policy, underscoring its role as a key partner. He conveyed these sentiments during a meeting with the Ambassador-designate to Djibouti, Aqsa Nawaz, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
According to Radio Pakistan, the President expressed his anticipation for strengthened relations with Djibouti, highlighting the foundation of their partnership on shared faith, cultural connections, and geographical proximity. He also mentioned that the establishment of Pakistan’s Mission in Djibouti in 2022 is a testament to Pakistan’s enduring commitment to the region.
President Zardari welcomed the collaboration between Pakistan and Djibouti on international platforms such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He advocated for enhanced cooperation in multiple sectors, including agriculture, education, tourism, trade, logistics, and maritime.
In congratulating Aqsa Nawaz on her new appointment, the President voiced his confidence that her tenure would foster closer people-to-people connections and promote a stable, progressive partnership between the two nations.
