Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening its ties with China, emphasizing the mutual benefits of enhanced cooperation in technology and infrastructure.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari, in an interview with China Central Television, underscored Pakistan’s eagerness to leverage Chinese technological advancements across various sectors, including agriculture and infrastructure. He stated that fostering a robust relationship with China remains a top priority for Pakistan.
President Zardari highlighted the strategic importance of Pakistan’s geography and expressed the country’s intention to fully capitalize on China’s development. He elaborated on efforts to establish special industrial parks tailored for Chinese enterprises within Pakistan.
The President pointed out the necessity of bolstering connectivity with China, focusing on sustainable communication networks and road development. He also mentioned ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperation in space sciences.
President Zardari acknowledged the significant role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in regional development and expressed satisfaction with the progress of projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which are contributing to the economic transformation of Pakistan.
In his remarks, President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for China and emphasized the importance of the longstanding friendship between the two nations, noting that China has consistently supported Pakistan in challenging times.
