President Zardari Lauds Qatar’s Media Efforts for Peace

Doha: President Asif Ali Zardari has appreciated Qatar’s role in promoting peace and understanding through media diplomacy. He was talking to Director General of Al-Jazeera Media Network, Nasser Bin Faisal Bin Khalifa Al Thani, who called on him in Doha today.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari expressed gratitude for Qatar’s warm hospitality and the fruitful meetings held with the Qatari leadership, including Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Prime Minister, and the Minister for Defence. The President commended Al Jazeera’s global role in promoting objective journalism and fostering understanding among nations.

He lauded Qatar’s principled stance on regional and international issues, particularly its leadership in efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and bring peace to Gaza. In his remarks, Director General of Al-Jazeera Media Network, Nasser Bin Faisal Bin Khalifa Al Thani thanked the President for the opportunity to call on him.

He also appreciated Pakistan’s support and solidarity with Qatar during the recent crisis and its consistent advocacy for the people of Palestine. The DG Al-Jazeera Media Network informed the President that a high-powered Al Jazeera delegation would soon visit Pakistan to gain Pakistan’s perspective on key regional and global issues.

The meeting was attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar.
