Prime Minister Sharif Calls for Boost in Pakistan’s IT Exports

Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed relevant authorities to implement concrete steps to significantly increase Pakistan’s IT exports.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a review meeting with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, the Prime Minister highlighted the untapped potential within Pakistan’s IT sector and its capacity to stabilize the economy. He issued directives to enhance 4G service quality, remove banking obstacles for IT exporters, and align IT education with industry demands through collaborative efforts between the government, higher education bodies, and the private sector.

The meeting also covered the establishment of the Pakistan Digital Commission and other initiatives under the Pakistan Digital Nation project aimed at expanding digital governance and boosting the IT workforce and infrastructure, including the creation of IT parks and e-employment centers.
