Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has mandated the swift creation of a roadmap for Pakistan’s comprehensive relief program for Palestine, directing that it be completed within three days. This directive came during a meeting held in Islamabad to assess the progress of sending relief goods from Pakistan to Gaza and Palestine, emphasizing the urgency of support amid ongoing regional crises.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif called for the inclusion of leading NGOs and the cooperation of both the public and private sectors in the relief efforts. He specifically noted the importance of supporting Palestinian students in Pakistan, ensuring they receive maximum assistance in educational institutions.
The briefing revealed that Pakistan has already sent ten consignments of relief goods to Palestine in the past year, totaling one thousand eight hundred and ten tons, including medicines, food items, and clothing. Additionally, the meeting covered the government’s efforts to repatriate seventy-one Pakistani nationals stranded in Lebanon, with plans underway to evacuate more citizens from conflict-affected areas.
This initiative underscores Pakistan’s commitment to humanitarian aid and international solidarity, particularly in support of the Palestinian people during ongoing conflicts.
