Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has publicly expressed his condolences following the death of Wu Bangguo, China’s former Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and former Vice Premier, recognizing his role in enhancing the bilateral ties between Pakistan and China.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a post on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Sharif praised Wu Bangguo as an outstanding leader of the Communist Party of China and a staunch ally of Pakistan. He noted that Bangguo’s efforts significantly strengthened the cooperation between the two nations.

Sharif reminisced about Wu Bangguo’s visit to Pakistan in 2006, describing it as a pivotal moment in the history of bilateral relations between the two countries. He also conveyed his sympathies to Wu Bangguo’s family and the people of China, stating that Pakistan shares in their grief during this challenging time.
