Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Reaffirms Support for Kashmir on ‘Black Day’

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif marked ‘Kashmir Black Day’ with a solemn declaration of support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, commemorating the 77th anniversary of Indian forces’ arrival in Srinagar.

According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif articulated the enduring hardships and resilience of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), emphasizing their unyielding quest for self-determination. He criticized India’s actions since August 5, 2019, as attempts to alter the disputed status of the region and suppress the democratic aspirations of its people through increased restrictions and human rights violations.

In his message, Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue as stated during his recent address at the United Nations General Assembly, asserting that peace in South Asia hinges on a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people. He vowed continued support for the Kashmiri cause until a fair settlement is reached.
