Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Attend Joint Arab Islamic Summit in Riyadh.

Riyadh: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to partake in the 2nd Joint Arab Islamic Summit, scheduled in Riyadh on Monday. The summit aims to address the ongoing situation in the Middle East, marking a continuation of discussions initiated during the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit held last November.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the summit, organized at the behest of the Saudi Arabian government, will witness participation from various Heads of State, governments, and senior officials from Arab League and OIC member countries. The Prime Minister is expected to underscore Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing a call for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza and the broader region. He is anticipated to advocate for an urgent ceasefire, cessation of Israeli actions, and the provision of international protection for Palestinians, alongside the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

In addition to participating in the main summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is slated to engage in bilateral meetings with leaders from other member states of the Arab League and OIC.

Following his visit to Riyadh, Prime Minister Sharif will travel to Baku, Azerbaijan, to attend the World Leaders Climate Action Summit on November 12-13, as part of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference. Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with other cabinet members and senior officials, the Prime Minister will advocate for climate solidarity and justice, emphasizing principles of equity and shared responsibilities.

During his time in Baku, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to have bilateral discussions with attending global leaders.
