Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is set to join over 130 world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York this week, where he will present Pakistan’s position on significant global and regional issues. His agenda includes addressing key concerns such as the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and the Palestine issue, as well as reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to multilateralism.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister is scheduled to speak at the General Assembly on Friday during the high-level segment of its 79th session, which begins tomorrow. This session provides a platform for world leaders to deliberate on pressing international issues and collaborate on solutions for global peace, security, and prosperity.

During his time at the UNGA, Prime Minister Sharif will also participate in several critical side meetings, including discussions on the existential threats posed by sea level rise and a UN Security Council open debate on Leadership for Peace. Additionally, he plans to engage in numerous bilateral meetings with other world leaders and a meeting with the UN Secretary-General.

These engagements are part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to influence global policy and reinforce its role on the international stage, particularly in advocating for the resolution of long-standing regional conflicts and supporting the United Nations’ mission.
