Prominent Universities to Establish Campuses in Karachi, Says Federal Minister.

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, announced on Monday that over 12 prominent universities from across Pakistan will soon be opening campuses in Karachi, marking a significant step in the country’s educational development.

According to Press Information Department, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui expressed appreciation for the efforts of Vice Chancellor PIFD Professor Hina Tayyab Khalil and her team in the success of the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD). He highlighted the government’s initiatives aimed at enhancing educational accessibility, with Karachi set to witness the operational launch of PIFD’s campus by February 2025. Dr Siddiqui emphasized that these developments underscore Pakistan’s commitment to progress through quality education.

Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori also spoke at the event, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s economic stability. Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Prof Mukhtar Ahmed, expressed support for PIFD, highlighting the societal need for education in arts and fashion. The event concluded with a presentation and acknowledgment of Dr Siddiqui’s contributions with a souvenir.
