Srinagar: Residents of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir are set to hold peaceful protests tomorrow following sacrilegious remarks made by Hindutva priest Yati Narsinghanand. The demonstrations, organized in response to comments that have sparked outrage among the Muslim community, are slated to occur after Friday prayers.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has spearheaded the call for these protests, urging a strong communal response to the offensive remarks. APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas has called upon Kashmiris and religious scholars to unite and voice their opposition, highlighting the remarks as part of a larger pattern of Islamophobia within India, driven by the BJP-led government’s policies.

Additionally, Advocate Devender Singh, chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Peace Forum, has echoed this sentiment in Jammu, condemning the propagation of religious hatred by Hindu extremists in India. He specifically criticized the actions of Yati Narsinghanand and called for his immediate arrest and punishment, noting the broader insecurity felt by minority communities in India under BJP rule.
