Provincial Budget Focuses on Development Agenda: Sindh CM

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced that the provincial government has introduced a balanced budget for the upcoming financial year, underlined by an ambitious development agenda. Speaking at a post-budget news conference in Karachi, he emphasized the government’s commitment to development and fiscal responsibility.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Sindh government has earmarked 590 billion rupees for development projects, with total expenditures expected to reach 2.15 trillion rupees. A significant portion of the budget, 1.1 trillion rupees, is allocated for salaries and pensions, which includes a salary increase of 12 percent for BPS grades one to 16 and 10 percent for grades 17 to 22.

The Chief Minister also highlighted that 236 billion rupees have been designated for infrastructure projects in Karachi. This allocation includes initiatives under public-private partnerships, aiming to enhance the city’s infrastructure development.
