Provision of Facilities to Overseas Pakistanis Govt’s Top Priority: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said provision of every possible facility to overseas Pakistanis is government’s top priority.

According to Radio Pakistan, while chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review progress on revamping of consular services by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of overseas Pakistanis as a valuable asset to the nation.

The meeting was informed that a QR code-based system has already been introduced to simplify the process for Power of Attorney, property purchase and sale, and document attestation to facilitate overseas Pakistanis.

The Prime Minister welcomed the digitization of the complaints registration system through QR codes for overseas Pakistanis and directed that the QR codes be prominently displayed at Pakistani embassies to improve accessibility.

He further instructed that a dedicated awareness campaign be launched for overseas Pakistanis regarding the complaint registration system so that the maximum number of people can benefit from this mechanism.

The meeting also revealed that an evening shift has recently been introduced at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ office in Islamabad for the convenience of the people. Additionally, document attestation services have been launched at the Asaan Khidmat Centre in Islamabad. Moreover, the Ministry has rolled out a courier-based attestation service and has integrated its system with the databases of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Inter Boards Coordination Commission, NADRA, and National Police Bureau, which aims to make the attestation process faster.
