PTA Receives Multiple Proposals for Spectrum Auction Consultancy in Pakistan

Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced the receipt of five proposals from international consultants to provide consultancy services for the upcoming spectrum auction aimed at enhancing Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) in Pakistan. These proposals represent a significant step toward improving mobile network services across the country.

According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority announcement issued on 02 September 2024, the technical and financial bids have been submitted by Aetha Consulting Limited, Detecon Consulting FZ-LLC, Frontier Economics Limited, KomKonsult (Private) Limited, and National Economic Research Associates Inc. The PTA is set to conduct a thorough evaluation of these submissions, adhering to the standards and regulations set forth by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).

This evaluation process is crucial as it determines which consultancy will ultimately aid the PTA in the spectrum allocation necessary to advance Pakistan’s mobile services infrastructure. The selected consultant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the spectrum auction is conducted efficiently and transparently, thus fostering a competitive environment that benefits consumers and boosts the telecom sector’s growth.
