PTCL Group Reports Significant Revenue Growth Amid Strategic Expansion

Karachi: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has reported a 16% increase in group revenue for the first half of 2025, demonstrating robust growth across several sectors, including fixed broadband and mobile data. This announcement follows a Board of Directors meeting held in Islamabad, emphasizing PTCL’s continued status as a leading telecom services provider in Pakistan.

The growth was primarily driven by substantial gains in fixed broadband, mobile data, enterprise solutions, and carrier wholesale services. PTCL’s own revenue increased by 12%, with its Flash Fiber service surging by 62% and business solutions growing by 15% compared to the previous year.

Ufone 4G, a PTCL subsidiary, reported a 17% year-on-year increase in revenue, coupled with ongoing cost optimization efforts, resulting in an EBIT of Rs. 7.6 billion. The U Microfinance Bank also contributed to the group’s financial success with a 25% rise in revenue.

Significant achievements during the period included a landmark connectivity agreement with Chinese operators and strategic submarine cable partnerships, enhancing Pakistan’s role in global digital infrastructure. PTCL also expanded into new enterprise verticals such as FinTech, while the wholesale segment saw increased penetration of IP bandwidth and emerging digital services.

PTCL’s focus on innovation led to the launch of Pakistan’s first 5G-ready smart residential community and automated bill delivery via WhatsApp. Collaborations with major technology partners, including Apple, further bolstered PTCL’s service offerings.

Ufone 4G expanded its subscriber base to 17.5 million, marking a 13% annual growth. The launch of new connectivity plans and the digital sub-brand ‘Onic’ has positioned Ufone as a leader in digital engagement.

PTCL Group’s digital initiatives, including its mobile wallet UPaisa and self-care app UPTCL, showed significant user growth, indicating a strong digital ecosystem.

The company’s social impact initiatives under the ‘Dil Se’ platform, such as empowering women entrepreneurs and expanding clean water access in Thar, highlight PTCL’s commitment to community development and digital inclusion.
