PTCL Group’s Robust Growth Continues with Strategic Advancements and Social Impact Initiatives

Karachi: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has reported a significant 15% increase in revenue for the first nine months of 2025, as disclosed at a recent Board meeting in Islamabad. The company continues to strengthen its position as a leading telecom provider in Pakistan, achieving growth across multiple sectors and advancing its social impact initiatives.

The PTCL Group’s revenue growth was driven by strong performances in fixed broadband, mobile data, and enterprise services. PTCL itself saw a 13% increase in revenue, bolstered by a 56% surge in Flash Fiber and a 17% rise in Business Solutions. The company’s operating profit grew by 57%, despite a net loss of Rs. 1.2 billion due to a one-off pension liability.

Ufone 4G, a subsidiary of PTCL, reported a 15% year-over-year topline growth, showcasing resilience in both commercial and operational areas. U Microfinance Bank (Ubank) also contributed with a 19% increase in revenue.

In a strategic move, PTCL received Phase-II approval from the Competition Commission of Pakistan for its proposed acquisition of Telenor Pakistan, which is expected to reinforce PTCL’s industry standing and support the government’s digital empowerment vision. The company’s Flash Fiber maintained its market leadership with significant growth and introduced a new offer to enhance nationwide internet access.

PTCL’s business services segment continued to lead in areas like IP bandwidth and ICT solutions, further positioning Pakistan as a regional connectivity hub. The company secured agreements to strengthen digital trade routes with Chinese operators and executed major submarine cable partnerships.

The enterprise sector expanded into new verticals, including FinTech, while the wholesale segment experienced growth in digital service adoption. PTCL formed strategic partnerships to expand broadband access, particularly in remote regions.

In innovation, PTCL launched the country’s first 5G-ready smart residential community and introduced automated bill delivery via WhatsApp. A partnership with Apple’s distributor in Pakistan was also unveiled, offering bundled services with the new iPhone series.

The Group’s digital and financial services continued to grow, with UPaisa and My Ufone app recording substantial user increases. PTCL’s marketing initiatives received recognition at the Dragons of Pakistan 2025 Awards, highlighting the company’s commitment to meaningful communication.

Under its ‘Dil Se’ platform, PTCL Group sustained its focus on social impact, renewing its partnership with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund to support small-scale women entrepreneurs. It also expanded efforts to provide clean drinking water in underserved areas, benefiting over 200,000 people.

In response to recent floods, PTCL demonstrated operational resilience by offering free call minutes and bill discounts to affected customers. The introduction of SUNO, an AI-powered early warning system, further exemplifies PTCL’s commitment to community welfare and inclusion.

These achievements underscore PTCL Group’s ongoing efforts to drive growth, innovation, and social impact in Pakistan’s telecom sector.
