PTCL Partners with DWP Technologies to Upgrade Data Center Infrastructure

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), a leading provider of telecom and ICT services in the country, has announced a collaboration with DWP Technologies to revamp its data center infrastructure. This initiative aims to integrate software-driven Enterprise and Mid-tier storage platforms from Dell Technologies, marking a significant step in PTCL’s digital transformation journey.

A formal signing ceremony in Islamabad showcased the new partnership. Key figures in attendance included Jafar Khalid, Group Chief Technology and Information Officer of PTCL and Ufone 4G, and Rohail Bashir, Chief Operating Officer of DWP Technologies. Senior management from PTCL Group, DWP, and Dell Technologies also participated.

PTCL’s infrastructure upgrade is designed to enhance operational efficiency and performance, ensuring scalability to accommodate increasing data demands. The initiative aims to fortify PTCL’s standing in the telecommunications sector while maintaining uninterrupted operations and business continuity. The current mission-critical platform and ecosystem, which spans three sites with enterprise replication services, will continue to be fully supported throughout this process.

The modernization introduces a three-site active-active metro architecture, enhancing service availability even amid localized disruptions. This scalable platform is also expected to reduce PTCL’s Data Center footprint and its power and cooling needs, contributing to lower operational costs and improved energy efficiency.

Jafar Khalid emphasized that the collaboration is a milestone in PTCL’s digital transformation, reinforcing its commitment to providing innovative solutions to enterprise customers. Rohail Bashir highlighted the partnership with PTCL and Dell Technologies as a testament to DWP’s dedication to delivering efficient and reliable infrastructure that fosters operational excellence.

This infrastructure upgrade is pivotal in supporting PTCL’s focus on technological innovation and future readiness, enabling the company to effectively meet the evolving needs of its customers.
