Public Shows Strong Confidence in Govt’s Year-One Achievements

Lahore: ‘Day of Development and Progress’ is being celebrated today to highlight the achievements of the Government during the past one year. The day is being observed on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to highlight successes bagged by the government following February 8 general elections. The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N is organizing rallies and special functions to highlight its achievements.

According to Radio Pakistan, major achievements bagged by the government include reducing inflation and interest rate, boosting exports and remittance inflows besides increasing Foreign Direct Investment. Hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Council of Heads of Government Meeting, organizing the ICC Champions Trophy Cricket Tournament, holding the International Conference on Girls’ Education, and convening the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance Summit are also major achievements of the Government.

Meanwhile, the people have expressed satisfaction over the government’s one-year performance. They have recognized that the country’s economy has stabilized during this period, which has created new job opportunities. They emphasized that reduction in inflation has provided relief to the common man.
