Punjab Assembly Speaker Suspends 26 Opposition Members

Lahore: Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan has suspended the membership of twenty-six opposition members of the assembly for fifteen sessions. The decision was made following violations of his recent ruling against hooliganism, disruption, and tearing of budget documents during the budget session.

According to Radio Pakistan, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan emphasized the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the Punjab Assembly and declared that he would not allow anyone to disrupt the house proceedings. He stated that the opposition members were given ample time to express their views during the budget session, yet the violations prompted the suspension action.
