Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced substantial financial assistance for wheat growers who own up to 25 acres of land. In her post on social media platform X, she detailed that wheat producers would receive a subsidy of 150 rupees per liter on ten liters of diesel per acre.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister highlighted that the surge in petroleum prices, driven by the ongoing global crisis, is influencing fuel costs in Pakistan. In response, the government is taking measures to alleviate the financial burden on farmers.
In addition to the support for wheat growers, the Chief Minister has introduced a relief package for registered motorcycle owners. As part of the package, bike registration and transfer fee charges have been waived. Furthermore, a monthly subsidy of two thousand rupees will be provided for 20 liters of petrol for each registered motorcycle.
To access the subsidy, registered motorcycle owners can reach out to Helpline 1000. They also have the option to use the mobile application “Maryam Ko Batayn” or visit the web portal mkb.punjab.gov.pk for further assistance.
