Punjab CM Directs Enhanced Security and Traffic Management for Eid-ul-Azha

Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed foolproof security arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha. In a statement, she emphasized the need for heightened security measures at cattle markets across the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister has called for effective traffic management near cattle markets in major cities to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety. She has further instructed that fixed transport fares be strictly enforced throughout the province. To facilitate this, fare lists and fitness certificates must be visibly displayed on bus windshields.

Additionally, the Chief Minister has ordered strict action against transport operators charging excessive fares, with a directive that any overcharged amounts be refunded to passengers. In support of livestock management, she has instructed livestock officials to ensure their presence and effective functioning in cattle markets to address any issues that may arise.
