Punjab CM Expands Green Electric Bus Service to Additional Districts

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a green electric bus service in five more districts, including Chiniot, Sialkot, Okara, Murree, and Layyah. This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote environmentally friendly transportation across the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the launching ceremony held in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz announced that approximately 1,100 electric buses will be operational in various cities of Punjab by the 15th of next month. She further revealed plans for the arrival of 1,500 buses this year, which will increase the fleet to 3,000 over the next three years.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized the government’s long-term vision to expand the project, with the aim of deploying 5,000 electric buses within five years. This significant expansion underscores the commitment to sustainable urban transport solutions and reducing the carbon footprint in the province.
