Punjab CM Launches Agriculture Tubewell Solarization Project

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the Agriculture Tubewell Solarization project through a balloting process in Lahore today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Punjab Government is set to provide subsidies for the installation of solar systems to facilitate agricultural activities. The subsidy amounts are structured as follows: five lac rupees for a 10-kilowatt solar system, seven point five lac rupees for a 15-kilowatt system, and ten lac rupees for a 20-kilowatt solar system.

In the initial phase of the project, eight thousand tubewells will be selected from across the province via balloting for conversion to solar energy.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of completing the solarization process in the first phase by June this year.
