Punjab CM Mandates Uniform Waste Management Standards Across Province

Punjab: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to introduce uniform waste management standards and intensify monitoring to deliver visible improvements in cleanliness across the province. She was chairing a special review meeting of the ‘Suthra Punjab’ initiative in Lahore today [Saturday].

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister also directed the use of standardized dustbins and garbage bags in markets, bazaars, and commercial areas. She emphasized ensuring door-to-door waste collection throughout the province and directed Additional Deputy Commissioners-Social Services to continuously monitor cleanliness standards. Maryam Nawaz also announced a zero-tolerance policy against non-performance and instructed authorities to regularly clean sanitation vehicles, containers, and waste collection points.
