Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the relevant authorities to provide 240 electric buses across 24 districts of the province to facilitate the public. The initiative aims to enhance public transportation and promote sustainable environmental practices within the region.
According to Radio Pakistan, during a meeting chaired in Lahore, the Chief Minister outlined plans to deploy 500 buses in the cities of Bahawalpur, Multan, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi from August to October this year. Additionally, 600 more electric buses are scheduled to arrive in Punjab between November and December.
Under the Punjab Clean Air Program, Chief Minister Nawaz emphasized that 400 electric buses will be designated for Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur, and Lahore. She also urged the Transport Department to expedite all public interest projects to ensure timely implementation and maximize benefits for the residents of Punjab.
