Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities concerned to prepare a comprehensive plan within five days to ensure the supply of clean drinking water to the people. Presiding over a meeting of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority in Lahore, she emphasized the need for a strategic approach to modernize the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and other relevant departments, drawing inspiration from the “Suthra Punjab” initiative.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister has mandated the installation of Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants and modern filtration systems across the region. Additionally, she stressed the importance of maintaining all 5,734 existing water filtration plants to ensure they operate efficiently. The directive aims to address the longstanding issue of access to clean drinking water in Punjab, reflecting a significant step towards improving public health and sanitation in the area.
