Punjab CM Vows to Construct 100,000 Houses Annually for Homeless People

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has vowed to construct one hundred thousand houses annually for homeless people.

According to Radio Pakistan, she chaired a special meeting in Lahore to review the progress of the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program projects in detail. The meeting involved a comprehensive review of three and five marla housing schemes and a scheme to provide free plots to homeless citizens in Punjab.

An eight-member committee was formed during the meeting to establish the Terms of Reference for providing free plots to the public. It was informed that under the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar program, four thousand eight hundred forty-one houses are nearing completion.

The meeting directed the authorities to expedite the development work of the housing schemes to ensure timely completion and availability for the homeless population.
