Punjab Completes Monsoon Preparedness Measures: Azma

Islamabad: Punjab Minister for Information Azma Zahid Bukhari says the provincial government has completed comprehensive preparations ahead of the monsoon season to effectively tackle heavy rains across the province.

According to Radio Pakistan, addressing a news conference in Lahore today, she said that despite receiving heavier-than-usual rainfall this year, no major waterlogging was reported. She highlighted that rainwater was drained in record time, while underpasses were cleared within a few hours after the rain.

The Provincial Minister stated that the provincial government is laying hundreds of kilometers of new sewerage lines and undertaking projects to shift overhead electricity cables underground to improve urban infrastructure and public safety.
