Punjab Govt Decides to Introduce New Laws on Arms Regulation

Lahore: Punjab Government has decided to introduce new laws regarding drone policing, coordinated security, and arms regulation. The decision was taken during the fourth extraordinary meeting on law and order, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting resolved to conduct fresh scrutiny of the current one million licensed arms in the province. The upcoming Punjab Surrender of Illegal Arms Act 2025 will be implemented in three phases, focusing on the surrender and destruction of illegal arms and the enforcement of arms-related laws.

Under the new Act, all illegal arms must be surrendered within fifteen days, and all licensed arms will undergo thorough scrutiny to ensure compliance with the new regulations.
