Punjab Govt Establishes Tribunals at District Level to Settle Land Disputes

Lahore: Punjab government has established tribunals at district level to settle land disputes under Punjab Property Ownership Amendment Act. These tribunals will start functioning from Saturday.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court Justice Aalia Neelum has designated additional sessions judges as tribunals in 36 districts. This initiative aims to streamline and expedite the resolution of land ownership conflicts across the province. The establishment of these tribunals is expected to provide a more structured and efficient process for resolving land disputes, which have been a longstanding issue in the region.

The decision to designate additional sessions judges as tribunal heads reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that land disputes are handled by experienced judicial officers. This move is part of broader efforts to improve the legal framework surrounding land ownership and management in Punjab.
