Lahore: In a significant move to enhance the health welfare of its personnel, the Punjab Police has allocated Rs 3.243 million for the medical treatment of its employees and their families.
According to a statement by Punjab Police, the funding has been approved by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, as part of an ongoing commitment to support officers facing serious health issues.
The statement detailed the distribution of the funds, noting that Rs 1.5 million has been set aside for a cornea transplant for retired driver constable Asghar Ali. Additionally, Rs 1 million has been earmarked for Head Constable Sarfraz Ahmed’s kidney transplant.
Further allocations include Rs 200,000 each for Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ijaz and ASI Muhammad Ramzan for their medical treatments. Constables Muhammad Irfan and Sakhi Sarwar have been allocated Rs 100,000 each. A combined total of Rs 143,000 has been provided for the treatments of retired Private Secretary Shoukat Niaz, ASI Muhammad Bilal, and Head Constable Muhammad Saeed.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the importance of this initiative, which follows a thorough review by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee. He highlighted that the Punjab Police is also exploring modern treatment facilities through agreements with various institutions to further support its personnel and their families.
