Punjab police arrest 841 hardened and most wanted Proclaimed Offenders and 226 Court Absconders

Lahore, May, 04 2013 (PPI-OT): On the orders of Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Aftab Sultan, second surprise GENERAL HOLD UP has been done by the Police across the province very successfully and it was continued for 02 hours.

According to details, during this hold up police arrested 841 hardened and most wanted POs and 226 Court Absconders across the Province. Similarly, under prohibition ordinance, 202 cases were registered against the violators and 28 Kg and 712 grams Charas, 2352 gram Heroin has been recovered from them, whereas, during this hold up Under Arms Ordinance 588 accused have been arrested and 398 cases have been registered, while 394 illegal weapons have been recovered from them.

Similarly, during this hold up, 14869 Motorcycles were checked by the police among them 2378 illegal and without number plates motorcycles were impounded in various police stations of the province. During this operation, total 6014 vehicles have been checked, among them 52 suspected and without number plates motor vehicles were impounded by the police.

Provincial Police Chief has directed the field police officers to remain in stand by position for holding up such surprise operations, to curb the criminals and terrorist activities before time.
