Punjab Using AI Surveillance to Monitor Waterlogging: CM Maryam

Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said the provincial government’s comprehensive monsoon management strategy is ensuring the timely drainage of rainwater across the province. In a statement, she said 300 modern cameras linked to the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s AI-based monitoring system are being used to detect waterlogging, while a 24/7 digital surveillance mechanism is keeping underpasses and other vulnerable locations under constant observation.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority has indicated that the third spell of monsoon rains is likely to continue across the province till Monday.
