Qaisar Ahmed Sheikh Outlines Government Efforts on Economic Growth and Public Issues

Chiniot: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaisar Ahmad Sheikh has announced the government’s commitment to bolstering the economy and addressing public concerns. Speaking to the media in Chiniot, Sheikh emphasized the importance of increasing the per capita growth rate to improve citizens’ lives. He highlighted the role of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in economic development, stating that financial and technical support for these businesses will help reduce poverty and create employment opportunities.

According to Press Information Department, Sheikh pointed out that expanding the tax net is crucial, as only 5.6 million people currently pay taxes, while many more could be included in the system. The government is implementing measures to simplify and streamline the tax system to eliminate tax evasion, which is expected to boost national revenue and fund developmental projects. Addressing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s actions, Sheikh criticized the party’s contradictory behavior of campaigning against the establishment while calling for negotiations. He advocated for resolving political issues through dialogue and viewed ongoing negotiations as a positive step.

During an open court session in Chiniot, Sheikh addressed various public issues, such as sanitation, healthcare, and other civic amenities, by issuing immediate directives for resolution. Financial aid was distributed to those in need, sewing machines were provided to women, and educational fees for students were covered. Sheikh reiterated the government’s dedication to public welfare and economic stability, assuring that the positive outcomes of these measures would soon be apparent to the populace.
