Quetta Officials Conduct Review and Strengthen Security for Ongoing Anti-Polio Campaign

Quetta: In a proactive move to ensure the safety of polio vaccination teams, Quetta officials, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Captain (Rtd) Athar Abbas, conducted a thorough review of security measures in place for the ongoing anti-polio campaign in the city. Assistant Commissioner President Imtiaz Ali Baloch and Risaldar Jahangir Khan Kakar were tasked with inspecting various areas and Basic Health Units (BHUs), emphasizing the importance of vigilance among the security forces assigned to protect the health workers.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, during the inspections, Assistant Commissioner President Imtiaz Ali Baloch issued specific directives to the polio teams, stressing the necessity of administering the polio vaccine to all children. This directive underscores the government’s commitment to eradicating polio and ensuring the health and safety of its younger population. AC Chaman also verified the fingerprints of the children vaccinated during the campaign, indicating a meticulous approach to monitoring and documenting the vaccination process.

Furthermore, the review included a significant focus on the role of the Levies Force, who have been instructed to accompany the polio workers throughout their duties without showing any signs of laxity or negligence. The emphasis on constant alertness is aimed at preventing any untoward incidents that might jeopardize the health initiative or put the workers at risk.

This heightened security protocol and the detailed oversight of the vaccination process reflect a concerted effort by the Quetta administration to ensure that the anti-polio campaign proceeds without any disruptions and that the goal of a polio-free environment is achieved efficiently and safely.
