Radio Pakistan Aims for Financial Independence, Says DG Saeed Ahmed

Multan: Director General of Radio Pakistan, Saeed Ahmed Shaikh, made a visit to the Broadcasting House in Multan to assess ongoing projects and operational facilities. During his tour, he evaluated the progress of the auditorium currently under construction, emphasizing the necessity of completing the remaining work within a month due to the project’s significance. Additionally, he inspected the facilities in the studio block, reviewing the current transmission capabilities.

According to Radio Pakistan, Saeed Ahmed Shaikh addressed the staff, highlighting the organization’s strategic efforts aimed at achieving financial self-sustainability. He revealed that Radio Pakistan is currently generating Rs. 1 billion annually by effectively leveraging its existing resources. Shaikh further explained that initiatives are in place to optimize the organization’s remaining assets and resources, which are expected to bolster its financial standing and cover operational costs more effectively.

Saeed Ahmed Shaikh called upon the staff to actively contribute to the identification and development of new revenue streams, which are crucial for enhancing Radio Pakistan’s financial sustainability. Additionally, he mentioned the implementation of a robust and transparent mechanism for pension payments, which aims to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the system.
