Raids on illegal gateway exchanges at Sialkot and Gujranwala

Islamabad, July 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) alongwith Federal Investigation agency (FIA) has carried out successful raids at Mohallah Toheedabad Town, Defence Road, Sialkot and second in Gujranwala. During the raids two operational illegal gateway exchanges along with supporting equipments and hundreds of SIMs were confiscated. A culprit running the illegal setup has been arrested from Sialkot by FIA.

It may be added that, PTA has geared up efforts against those involved in grey traffic. Three raids have been conducted in less than a week at three different cities i.e. Lahore, Gujranwala and Sialkot.
