Lahore: Interloop Regen Kapas has received the Regenagri® certification from Control Union, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainable cotton sourcing. This initiative, launched in 2024 in collaboration with REEDS Pakistan, aims to revolutionize cotton farming across more than 6,000 acres in southern Punjab.
The project supports 1,000 farmers in 25 villages as they transition to regenerative agricultural practices. These practices are designed to restore soil health, boost biodiversity, and enhance the livelihoods of rural communities.
In the current season, Regen Kapas successfully produced over 1,600 tonnes of cotton lint. Each bale of cotton is fully traceable through Looptrace, a move that underscores the project’s dedication to transparency and accountability in the cotton supply chain.
The Regenagri® certification is a testament to Interloop’s commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation in the agricultural sector. By adopting regenerative techniques, the initiative not only aims to improve cotton yield and quality but also seeks to contribute positively to the ecosystem and the local economy.
