Karachi, August 25, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chairman DMC Central,while acknowledging that the journalists have been a great support to bring the work of DMC Central in lime light and eyes of the authorities and common people, acquainted press and media persons with the performance of him and his team to carry out a successful cleaning Eidul Azha operation, here on Friday. He commended the efforts of DMC officers and staff that made it a success with their devoted services and strong coordination. While the workers of sanitation department, especially did great efforts in lifting the huge and very heavy offal by hands just to save the common people from problems. ABOUT 4,47,930 offal were lifted during three days of Eid.
He was thankful to the senior deputy convener of MQM (Pakistan) Aamir Khan and members of national and provincial assembly Osama Qadri, Abbas Jaffery,Waseem Qureshi and Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar,as well as deputy commissioner (central) and the elected chairman, vice chairman and council members of DMC central who kept visiting district central and extended their support to the chairman and DMC staff.
However, he criticized the unjust attitude of the Government of Sind to ignore the financial needs of and not providing the adequate finance to the municipal institutions and the city government. Speaking to the journalists, member of Rabta Committee MQM (Pakistan) MPA Khwaja Izharul Hasan raised objection on solid waste management board and said that the PPP government caused the heaps of garbage to develop for 8 years just to pay money for lifting it. He strongly opposed it and said that electricity and bio gas could be made from the garbage and money could be earned too.
At the press conference, MQM (Pakistan) MNA Osam Qadri,MPA Abbas Jaffery, Municipal Commissioner (central) Waseem Soomro were also present.The press conference was held at the main reception and complaint center of DMC Central which was inaugurated by the Convener of MQM (Pakistan) and federal minister for Information technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on the previous night of Eidul Azha. As DMC central faced shortage of resources in terms of manpower and machineries it had to hire on daily rent basis 1800 labor, 550 Suzuki vans,80 dumpers, 22 loaders and 5 excavators from private sectors. To acknowledge the hard work of the sanitation department, Rehan Hashmi announced to reward them.
