Relief to Farmers Remains National Priority: Gilani

Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani says agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and providing relief to farmers remains a national priority. He was talking to President of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited, Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti, who called on him at Parliament House in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Gilani reaffirmed that Parliament would continue to extend full support for farmer-friendly policies and the development of the agricultural sector. The President of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited briefed the Chairman of the Senate on the Bank’s loan programs for farmers and landowners, including financial facilities offered on easy terms and various relief packages to enhance agricultural productivity.
