REMIT Steering Committee Convenes in Islamabad for Economic Review.

Islamabad: A meeting of the Revenue Mobilisation, Investment and Trade Programme (REMIT) Steering Committee took place in Islamabad today, presided over by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. The session witnessed the participation of British High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms Jane Marriott, alongside senior leadership from crucial government ministries and REMIT’s implementing partners, including the World Bank, GCSI, and ASI.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Committee undertook a comprehensive review of the efforts made by stakeholders across various economic sectors. The focus was on areas such as revenue mobilisation, investment climate, macroeconomic governance, trade, and climate change. These evaluations aim to fortify macroeconomic stability and enhance the environment for achieving high and sustained inclusive growth.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed his appreciation for the progress achieved under the Programme. He emphasized the necessity for a more proactive and dedicated commitment from all stakeholders to ensure the timely implementation of the final deliverables. The Minister further stated his intention to personally oversee the advancement of activities, outputs, and outcomes to ensure the Programme remains on course.
