Report Claims Modi’s Policies Have Compromised Safety for Minorities in India

Islamabad: A new report claims that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has become an increasingly unsafe environment for Muslims and other minority groups. These communities face escalating threats and violence as a result of policies supported by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological ally, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the report details a grim landscape of religious intolerance and violence in India, noting a rise in attacks on Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, and low-caste Hindus. The publication describes an atmosphere of impunity for Hindu extremists, who have reportedly engaged in acts ranging from forcible conversions to the lynching of Muslims and vandalism against mosques and churches.

The report also cites warnings from global experts on genocidal violence, suggesting that the conditions are being set for potential genocidal actions against Muslims in both India and Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. It argues that the safety of religious minorities is unlikely to improve as long as the BJP remains in power.

Furthermore, the document challenges the international community and human rights organizations to intervene and protect these vulnerable populations from what it describes as “Hindu fascism.” The report concludes with a dire prediction about the ongoing risk to the rights and lives of Indian religious minorities under the current Indian administration.
