Restoration of Char Padgu Nears Completion, Set to Boost Gwadar’s Tourism and Economy

Gwadar: Under the directive of Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rahman, Tehsildar Chingiz Baloch conducted an inspection of the ongoing restoration work at the historic Char Padgu building. During his visit, he highlighted the significance of the building to the cultural heritage and future tourism prospects of the city.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Tehsildar Chingiz Baloch engaged with the artisans and craftsmen who are meticulously working to restore the building. They emphasized the need for patience, skill, and considerable effort in the restoration of such significant national heritage sites, noting that the task demands substantial time. The craftsmen informed the Tehsildar that 95% of the restoration work has been completed, and the project is expected to reach completion within the next month.

During his discussions, Tehsildar Chingiz Baloch remarked on the deep historical and cultural importance of Char Padgu, describing it as more than an architectural structure but a vital part of the region’s distant past. He articulated that preserving such heritage is crucial for educating and passing on values to future generations. The restoration aims to return the building to its original historical form, enabling the public to appreciate its former glory.

Tehsildar Baloch also expressed that the successful restoration and subsequent reopening of Char Padgu are anticipated to enhance Gwadar’s aesthetic appeal and attract more tourists, which in turn would bolster the local economy. He envisioned the project as providing both a recreational venue for residents and a stimulus for economic development in the area.

This effort to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of Gwadar is seen as a pivotal step in reconnecting the local community with its past and fostering growth in the tourism sector.
