Romina Highlights Youth’s Role in Shaping Eco-Friendly Cities

Islamabad: Highlighting the critical role of youth in urban environmental sustainability, Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, emphasized the necessity of integrating climate adaptation strategies into urban planning. Her comments came during an address on World Habitat Day, where she detailed the significance of leveraging young people’s energy, creativity, and perspectives to construct resilient and smart cities capable of handling extreme weather and rapid urbanization challenges.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Alam stressed the importance of innovative technologies, recycling, green building materials, and climate-resilient architectural designs as foundational to fostering sustainable development. She underscored the pressing need to address significant global challenges, including poverty, inequality, and the threats posed by climate change, crucial for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
