Rs118b recovered in crack down against power theft

The efforts of the government and law enforcement agencies for revival of economy and bring the people out of power crisis are now yielding positive results.

In the ongoing crackdown against electricity theft, over 118 billion rupees have been collected across country so far, while more than 85 thousand electricity thieves have been arrested.

During the current week, relevant institutions recovered three billion rupees from electricity thieves in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukhur, Quetta and other areas.

687 electricity thieves have also been netted during the current week.
