Rs27b Project Launched to Improve Food Security in GB

Gilgit: Federal Government in collaboration with Italy has launched a project worth twenty-seven billion rupees to bolster food security and agricultural self-sufficiency in Gilgit-Baltistan. Addressing a briefing given by the official of the Economic Transformation Initiative in Gilgit, the Caretaker Chief Minister Yar Muhammad Nasir said efforts to cultivate barren land and improve road access to markets for agricultural commodities will spark an agricultural revolution in the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, the initiative aims to transform the agricultural landscape of Gilgit-Baltistan. The project will focus on the cultivation of barren lands and enhancing infrastructure to facilitate better market connectivity for agricultural goods. The collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to the region’s economic growth and ensure sustainable food security.
