RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Proclaims India a Hindu State

New Delhi: In a significant declaration, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that India is a Hindu state and emphasized the importance of Hindu unity in the diverse nation. The announcement was made at an event in Rajasthan’s Baran, attended by a large number of RSS volunteers and senior functionaries.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Bhagwat, during his speech, called for Hindus to overcome differences in language, caste, and regional disputes to foster unity. This statement aligns with the growing influence of Hindutva, or Hindu nationalism, which has been increasingly evident in the country’s political and social spheres.

The RSS chief’s remarks come at a time when the ideology of Hindutva is under intense scrutiny and discussion across India. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is closely associated with the RSS, has been at the forefront of promoting this ideology, which has shaped several of its policies.

The event in Baran was notable for its size, with 3,827 RSS volunteers in attendance, along with senior RSS functionaries such as Ramesh Agarwal, Jagdish Singh Rana, Ramesh Chand Mehta, and Vaidya Radheshyam Garg.
