Russian Deputy Prime Minister Visits Pakistan Pavilion at BIOPROM 2025 in Russia

Lahore: The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia visited the Pakistan pavilion at the international trade fair “BIOPROM 2025,” which took place in Gelendzhik City, Russia. The pavilion was jointly organized by Pakistan’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). The Russian official, accompanied by senior government representatives, acknowledged Pakistan’s growing influence in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors and expressed interest in enhancing bilateral trade relations.

Mr. Socrat Aman Rana, Chief Executive Officer of SMEDA, noted that the initiative to establish the pavilion was supported by the Prime Minister of Pakistan and guided by Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production. The endeavor aimed to promote Pakistani pharmaceutical and allied products and foster business-to-business connections, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The pavilion featured a diverse array of products from prominent Pakistani companies in pharmaceuticals, food, herbal, cosmetics, and wellness sectors. Brands such as Nutrifactor, Qarshi Pakistan, Skincare, Chiltanpure, and Schazoo Zaka Pharmaceutical were highlighted, demonstrating Pakistan’s manufacturing capabilities.

The delegation representing Pakistan included Mr. Hamid Muhammad Zaka, Director Market Development of Schazoo Zaka Pharmaceutical, Mr. Raja Hassanien Javed, General Manager Regional Operations of SMEDA, and Ms. Shabana Mumtaz, Minister Trade and Investment at the Embassy of Pakistan in Russia.

The Pakistan pavilion drew significant attention from regulators and industry experts, resulting in meaningful business linkages and potential collaborations between Pakistani and Russian companies. These interactions are expected to pave the way for new export opportunities and market access for Pakistani SMEs.

This participation underscores the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to diversifying exports and expanding presence in non-traditional markets through innovation and international partnerships.
